Q209022: INFO: Using An Upgrade Concurrent License

When fulfilling an upgrade order for a concurrently licensed product, a license file will be generated which includes an UPGRADE line. In order to make use of this license file, there are a number of considerations to take into account. This article discusses these considerations and describes how to make use of the license.

ICE33 can only be encountered during validation. It is displayed in the following format:

Warning Reg key<REGKEY> is used in an unsupported way. <REGTYPE> should be registered via the <TABLENAME> table. This entry may overwrite a value created through that table.

<REGKEY> resolves to a primary key in the Registry table.

<TABLENAME> resolves to the name of the table that the registry key should be moved to.

<REGTYPE> resolves to the type of registry key. For example, CLSID.

When trying to connect to a license server from a remote client behind a firewall a -96 error is recieved and no connection to the license server is made. This results in no vald license for the client.

This article explains how to remove the default computer icon from the dialog in a InstallScript MSI setup so that the only image displayed is the one beneath.

An InstallScript project created with InstallShield will hang, when the installation is finished or aborted. For example, when the end user clicks to finish the installation, the final dialog will disappear from the screen however the setup process will remain in memory.

After uninstalling a Basic MSI or InstallScript MSI project in Windows 2000, the Add/Remove Programs entry remains. If the "Change" button in the entry is selected again, an error occurs and the entry is removed as expected.
